TEENS (15 1/2 +) - BIG CHANGES!

I'm starting a new chapter and my last Certificate of Completion (the "Golden Ticket" for teens) will be issued December 16.

It's most likely that teens who begin working with Bubble of Safety late summer & fall will have to complete their requirements with another driving school. Book 2-hour lessons (transferable if completed by December 16, 2026).

I'll still be coaching driving, with even more flexibility - beginning January 2027 I'll be able to work with learners in their own cars (I think that's awesome!) but I will no longer be a DMV licensed instructor and will not be able to sign off to validate the permit nor issue Certificates of Completion. My lessons will be extra - they won't count toward the required 6 hours with a licensed instructor - but it's worth it!

Get your Learner's Permit - All drivers need a permit (or valid license) to take a driving lesson.
Check out Jacqueline's Calendar - Take a look and find one or more spots that work with your schedule. If you can't find a time with me - my awesome colleagues Carlos or Aviv might have something to help you get started sooner.
Booking with Carlos - Carlos is a school photographer so fall is a busy time - he updates his calendar every few weeks based on his availability. Carlos works with both teens and adults.
Booking with Aviv - Aviv is available to support adult drivers only, must be 18+.to book with him.

We cannot refund payments for same day cancellations but with 48 hours notice we can refund 50% of your payment and with 24 hours notice we can apply 25% to a future lesson.

All lessons take place in a Bubble of Safety vehicle with instructor brake.

Driving Lessons for Teens & Adults

$180/90 min $240/120 min

At Bubble of Safety, we deliver instruction in 90 minute and120 minute lessons, providing skill and safety-based instruction that exceeds DMV requirements and develops safe, courteous, and defensive drivers.

Teens <17 1/2 are required to complete 6 hours of instruction with a licensed driving instructor. Bubble of Safety will be licensed through December 2026.

Ergonomic Fitting

$100/45 min - your car, your home (Albany, El Cerrito, Richmond)

Ergonomics are not just for the office - ensure your seat, steering column, and mirrors are set up for maximum safety and comfort.

Driving Lesson in Your Car - beginning February 2027

$189, 90 minutes - These lessons count toward the 50 required hours for teens <17 1/2 but do not count toward the required 6 hours with a licensed driving instructor.

Prerequisite:

Students <17 1/2 must have a valid permit (permit signed by a licensed driving instructor).

Students >17 1/2 must have a valid permit.

Did you know:

DMV licensed driving instructors are not allowed to conduct driving lessons in any car other than those owned and operated by a DMV licensed driving school.

One of the benefits of moving away from being a DMV licensed school is that I will be able to coach students in their own cars. This is a huge advantage for the safety, comfort, and confidence of my students and I’m super excited about this new offering.

Final Test Prep in Your Car - beginning February 2027

$252/2 hours

Includes:

Ergonomic fitting (seat, steering wheel, mirrors,, four corners, bumper-to-bumper).

Test Prep - Preview scoring criteria and practice essential skills in the DMV test neighborhood (El Cerrito, Claremont).
